Chris is an L.A. based photographer who creates smile inpiring images of toys, small objects and nature.
The name’s Chris Johnson. I'm a photographer, volunteer and micro business owner who lives in sunny Southern California. Photography has been one of my loves ever since I was a little tyke. Using my toy camera, I'd imitate my dad as he photographed our family for our albums. At age 17, received my first (real) professional digital camera. From there I took an online photo class and eventually explored my own photographic skills by starting a 365 Project. Yes, that meant taking a photo each day for an entire year! Whew...it was a challenge but loved it so much that I've kept the project going ever since.
I started my 365 project back in 2011 with the goal of improving my photography and forcing myself to become better with a camera everyday. I had no idea it would help me develop a fun style for colorful and playful subjects, such as toys. When I observe children playing with toys, I'm intrigued by how they create their own innocent world, full of imagination, adventure, and smiles. It's my passion to recapture that same imagination and creativity in my photographic images and share them with other cretaive minds. However, it's not only toys, but even objects, plants and food can be seen in an incredibly playful and fun way!
Thank you so much for exploring my site and connecting with me. Many of the photographs featured here, and at my gift shop on the Zazzle marketplace, are a direct result of my projects. Hope my images inspire you to see the sheer childlike joy in life and maybe you'll crack a smile along the way. ◠‿◠
