Ballpark notes... (Dimensions:
LFL-340, LF-388, LC-360, CF-421, RC-373, RF-320, RFL-310 / Capacity:
44K)
This classically designed
ballpark is located between the edge of old historic downtown and a
large park and recreation area. The outfield sports a manual
scoreboard. Century Park's distinctive extension from center to right
field is one of the more unique
outfield configurations extended back a considerable distance. Without
a speedy outfielder in right and center, routine doubles in the gap can
easily turn into triples and inside-the-park homeruns. Conversely, deep
fly balls to right center and center that would be homeruns in most
other parks become just long outs in Century Park. This park favors
righties over lefties.
Day games start at
1pm, Night games start at 7pm.
City/Fan notes...
Washington
D.C. (Market
Size: Big) -
After 200+ years as the nation’s capital, Washington is a place
brimming
with a unique history of its own. It has developed as a complex and
layered cosmopolitan city with multiple personalities. As home to the
federal
government, elected and appointed officials come and go giving the city
its reputation as a transient community. It's unique place in governing
also inspired the naiming of it's baseball club - the Solons; meaning
wise lawgiver. However, many of the city’s residents have
called Washington home for multiple generations. Their stories give
Washington its distinctive character as both a national and local city.
Solon fans love their team and
their classic old stadium. They are true fanatics. During pennant runs
schools and
businesses close. Streets leading to the ballpark are painted red,
white and blue and Solon banners are hung from the light standards
lining
those streets.
