Ballpark notes... (Dimensions:
LFL-318, LF-362, LC-399, CF-408, RC-385, RF-354, RFL-314 / Capacity:
52k)
The ballpark in the East Bronx
is one of a kind. Built almost on the spot where baseball was first
played in this country. It is designed to be larger than life.
The sheer size of it makes an impact on everyone who walks on the field
for the first time. Pitchers report that balls hit in
Knickerbocker Stadium have a different ring to them, a different sound.
There is a rich sound to it. It's most famous feature is the
copper facade that graces the stadium. The quickest way to get to
Knickerbocker Stadium is the subway. Fans are allowed to depart
the stadium through the center-field gates. This is one of my
favorite places to catch Metro Leagues action.
Day games start at
1pm, Night games start at 7pm.
City/Fan notes...
New York (Market
Size: Huge) -
'The Big Apple' is the wealthiest, most populous city in the U.S. It
has become one of the most visited cities in the country. The
center of tourist activity runs from river to river. But, New
York has various sub-neighborhoods each with its own ambiance. The
Theater District is focused around the Mid-Manhatten theaters.
East-End, on the far east of New York, has turned into
somewhat of a trendy area with numerous restaurants and cafes dotting
its blocks. The focal point of New York is Times Square with
its urban glitz and flashing neon displays lighting up the streets 24
hours a day.
New York
is a wonderful, vibrant, exciting city with unending choices of things
to do and see including catching a
Knickerbockers ballgame at
famed Kinckerbocker Stadium! Also, New
York is a haven for business investers who flock to New York in throngs
looking to make a fortune. Despite New York's serious business persona,
it's a great place to live and visit.
Knickerbocker fans are loud,
sometimes rowdy, but always passionate. They know the game well, but
are well known for throwing things onto the field to protest a
perceived bad call; or when they have an intense dislike for an enemy
player. They are loyal to the team, but have been known to heckle
one of their own players when he gets on their bad side. They
love winning, but will stick with their club through tough times as
well.
