Dragons Are 3-Time Champs!
The
Dunberry Dragons earned their third strait Metro Bowl Championship as
they staved off the Brandenburg Brahmas by a score of 24-22. The
Dragons wasted no time in establishing a vibrant ground game as they
scored a rushing TD on their first drive. They quickly built a 17-3
lead. However, the Brahmas lessened the gap when they scored a ground
TD to make the sore 17-10, by halftime. In the second half Brandenburg
scored on two consecutive FGs to really tighten the game. Then, both
defenses dug in to hold the offenses in check. But, the Dragons managed
to push ahead 24-16 in the 4th quarter off a 1 yard run. Still, the
Brahmas where not finished as they orchestrated an incredible drive
that resulted in a 5 yard TD pass with only 14 seconds left in the
game. However, the Brahmas failed to convert a two point conversion
that would have sent the game into overtime. In fact, the pass was
knocked away in the endzone by a Dragon defender. That preserved the
Dunberry lead and secured the championship title. Also, this victory
may have solidified the Metro Leagues's first legitimate dynasty. The
Dragons passed for 176 yards, 1 TD and rushed for 117 yards and 2 TDs.
This win gives the Dragons their fourth Metro Bowl title in franchise
history. Next, they travel home for another huge Main Street parade
with their fans.... GAME STATS
