RECAP: A
demanding schedule pulled Silver Bay in different directions, and the
final tally came in at 7-5-1. Offensively, QB Hugy Altham posted 2657
passing yards, 21 touchdowns, 5 interceptions; HB Darrell Walston
posted 877 rushing yards, 3 rushing touchdowns, 0 lost fumbles; and WR
Mohammed Sena posted 43 catches for 460 yards, 5 touchdowns. On
defense, LILB/MLB Curt Upchurch posted 75 tackles, 9 tackles for loss.
The victories over
Sterling, Newport Bay, and River Heights were worth remembering, but
defeats against Roxford and Market City made the climb tougher. After
getting past River Heights, Roxford, and Metropolis, the club reached
the Metro Bowl before falling to Easton.
OFFSEASON UPDATE: Feeling good about the team's direction, Silver Bay extends head coach Jack Castanza on a new 3-year deal.
