third quarter turned into a punt-and-field-position grind. Gotham
pieced together a modest drive but couldn’t convert on fourth down.
Easton threatened to extend the lead with another methodical
march—again keyed by Flash Thomas—but Davis missed a 31-yard field goal
wide right. No points were scored in the quarter, and Easton stayed in
front 17–10 heading to the fourth.

Easton
tried to sit on the lead, trading punts and draining clock, but Gotham
finally found the equalizer late. With just under two minutes left,
Scott hit Tank Brownrigg for gains of 21 and then 24 yards, the second
one a touchdown that tied the game at 17–17 after the PAT. Easton
nearly stole it at the gun—Codey launched a 43-yard bomb to Flash
Thomas to set up a long try—but Davis’ 45-yard field goal attempt
sailed wide left after a penalty adjustment. Regulation ended
deadlocked.

Bryant and Doak Peters, repeatedly moving the chains and grinding
inside the 10. With the drive stalled at the 2, LeBaron calmly drilled

In a windy, 45-degree battle at Easton Stadium, the Gotham
Bulldogs outlasted the Easton Barons 20–17 in overtime, rallying from a
17–10 halftime deficit and surviving a late Easton field-goal miss to
extend the game. MVP Tony Scott steadied Gotham with timely
playmaking—finishing 11-of-22 for 165 yards, 2 TDs and 1 INT, while
adding 57 rushing yards on 5 carries—including the late fourth-quarter
touchdown drive that tied it and the overtime march that set up Roy
LeBaron’s game-winning 19-yard field goal. Gotham’s ground game (211
rushing yards) helped control the finish, while Easton’s offense, led
by Flash Thomas (159 total yards), couldn’t land the closing blow.
