Behind a bruising, clock-controlling performance from MVP Joe Steel,
the St. Cruze Makos outlasted the Gotham Bulldogs, 20–14, at Tropical
Field in mild conditions. Gotham opened with a 99-yard kickoff-return
TD, but St. Cruze answered with steady balance and the game-winning
edge on two Jackson Meyers field goals, including a late 40-yarder.
Steel powered the Makos’ attack with 20 carries for 123 yards (6.2 avg)
and a 33-yard touchdown run, adding 1 catch for 21 yards as St. Cruze
finished with a 328–215 advantage in total offense and kept Gotham
under constant pressure with six sacks.
