In a dramatic Metro Bowl showdown, the Easton Barons outlasted the
Silver Bay Wolves 26–22 in a back-and-forth fourth quarter that
featured multiple lead changes and a last-minute game-winning drive.
Easton controlled much of the game early, building a 13–0 third-quarter
lead behind efficient offense and consistent scoring from kicker
Franklin Davis, while Silver Bay surged back with two quick
fourth-quarter touchdowns to briefly take the lead. The final minutes
turned into a shootout, with both teams trading scores before Nick
Denver led Easton on a rapid final drive, capped by a 37-yard touchdown
pass with under 30 seconds remaining. MVP QB Nick Denver (EASTON)
delivered an outstanding performance, completing 17-of-22 passes
(77.3%) for 298 yards and 2 touchdowns with no interceptions, guiding a
balanced offense that produced 429 total yards and ultimately delivered
the championship-winning drive. |
